Landscape Project Assistant (Rural Skills Modern Apprenticeship) – 2 posts available

This is a unique opportunity, supported by Historic Environment Scotland, to prepare for a career in the natural and cultural heritage sectors, while gaining a range of CV-boosting qualifications including a Modern Apprenticeship in Rural Skills and a Level 2 Award in Cultural Heritage.

Two positions are available and will support a variety of Callander’s Landscape projects, gaining experience through on-the-job training in practical conservation and archaeological excavations.

This is a 15 month contact, working 24 hours a week. During the first 3 months you will attend Canal College in Falkirk for two days a week and spend one day in Callander. For the other 12 months you will be based in Callander and you will be working and training with a number of organisations on project such as:

  • Habitat restoration, including woodlands, rivers and meadows;
  • Biodiversity monitoring;
  • Archaeological research, surveying and excavations;
  • Cultural heritage projects including oral history and Gaelic language;
  • Dark Skies

Adventure Tourism (Hospitality Modern Apprenticeship) – 2 posts available

Callander’s Landscape partner Callander Youth Project is delighted to offer two 12-month contracts that will combine the completion of a Modern Apprenticeship in Hospitality with a range of training and work experience specialising in Outdoor Adventure Tourism.

This role will contributes to the Callander’s Landscape project, which aims to ‘leave a legacy that supports the town’s drive to become the outdoor capital of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park’.

We are looking for two young people (aged 25 or under) who are passionate about the outdoors and looking for a career that will enable them to share this passion with others.
