Find out what’s on in this year’s Callander & Trossachs Summerfest, which launches its programme today.

Summerfest is organised by Callander Community Development Trust, Creative in Callander, Callander Youth Project Trust and Callander’s Landscape, and is funded by Callander Community Hydro Fund, Friends of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs, Stirling Council, advertisers, sponsors and private donations.

Emphasising the importance Callander’s Landscape, this year the festival celebrates the wonderful landscapes around the town through art, crafts, music and opportunities to encourage people to get out on the water, in the woods and on the hills.

Highlights from this year’s event will include a special pre-festival performance by Scottish Opera’s Pop-up Opera, a video presentation from award-winning film maker Doug Allan on the breath-taking range of environments he’s filmed over his 40-year career, and a visit from the Scottish Youth Theatre.

As part Summerfest 2019, the Callander’s Landscape team will also be hosting the following events and volunteering opportunities:

  • A free family bushcraft day to explore our local woodlands.
  • Gaelic workshops to delve into the language of the landscapes around Calasraid (pronounced KALusratch).
  • A guided walk by Forth River Trust along the majestic River Teith to find out more about what lives in our rivers.
  • A practical conservation day to lend a helping hand in making the Callander Crags a great place for people and wildlife.

Find out more about these activities and how you can sign up to take part at our Get Involved page.

Full details and tickets for other activities on offer as part of Summerfest can be found at or from the Callander Visitor Information Centre.

We look forward to seeing you there!
