Join us for our volunteer day in Little Leny Meadows. We will be working to help SWT Callander group to install some new bird and bat boxes in Little Leny Meadow. If all boxes have been installed on the previous volunteer day, then we will be doing woodland conservation in the lower Crags woods instead. Event and location will be confirmed nearer the time. All activities will be run by a leader and full instruction and supervision will be provided. No experience needed! Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
We have a Covid specific risk assessment in place to help us maintain the safety of our staff and volunteers. The risk assessment will be emailed out to volunteers along with the joining instructions for the day. Some general guidance is included in the PDF document below.
Please remember that is up to each individual to decide if volunteering is appropriate for you at this time. We want everyone to take care of themselves and their families, so please don’t worry if volunteering is not right for you at the moment. If you are in a high risk group, for example: over 70 years old, have pre-existing medical conditions, are shielding, or live with people who are high risk, or if you have any concerns then please get in touch so we can discuss if volunteering is right at this time.
Places must be booked in advance. To book email email@example.com or call 07709 404 431.
Please note there are no public toilets in Little Leny Meadow, the closest toilets are a short walk at Station Road Car Park.
We will be walking on well surfaced paths to start with, then on grassy and potentially boggy terrain.
It will be a small friendly group and most people won’t know each othe
Parking is available at the Meadows Car Park which is pay and display.
